Painting by Merlin James Poetry by Harry Gilonis

This book documents the painting Dredge by Merlin James and includes a poem specially commissioned from Harry Gilonis. Dredge was exhibited at A-M-G5’s space in Oxford House, Glasgow, 15 September – 3 November 2018.

Merlin James was born in Cardiff in 1960 and studied at the Central School and Royal College of Art in London. He exhibits widely, writes extensively on art and curates.

Harry Gilonis is a poet, editor, publisher and critic. His Rough Breathing: Selected Poems is published by Carcanet (2018); it, and eye-blink (Veer Books), contain versions of Chinese poetry akin to those presented in this book. He has written on and collaborated with visual artists and musicians.
